Sound and Performance Analysis

In much the same way that an artist’s appearance can affect an audience’s perception of the music, the same can be said around the type of sound the artist is producing. To achieve a sound quality that an audience can understand and connect to, artists need to be able to recognize issues within the sound system’s mix when performing live, problems with their song or band’s composition, and the way the order of their songs affect the feel of their performance. We view sound and performance through a number of lenses in order to assist the artist in self-identifying issues as well as helping them making changes to the composition of their music to create a sound that leaves a positive impression on audiences.

Specific areas that we focus on during our Evaluation include:

  • Appearance
  • Pre-Performance and Setup
  • Song Choice and Composition
  • Vocal and Instrumental Performance
  • Audience Interaction and Connection
  • Post-Performance

Each Section consists of an analysis of strengths and weaknesses and concludes with a “Needs” section that highlights the biggest areas of opportunity for improvement.
